About Linda Beale

“Getting a dog has opened my eyes to the countryside!”….. I was born in Kent in 1965, growing up there, and latterly in South London. I did a foundation course in Fashion and Textiles at Ravensbourne Art College and later trained in decorative paint effects. Art was really only a hobby then, as I spent most of my time painting the interiors of peoples houses. The paintings I did however, came from my imagination and had been mainly geometrical forms, with a strong use of colour and shape.

In 2011 I moved to the Isle of Wight, and we adopted our lovely dog Norbi. Walking him daily I have discovered the rich variety of  land and seascapes on the Island, enjoying the flowing lines and shapes of the land, and being constantly amazed at just how many shades of green there are, when you really look! My time is now spent painting, and practising as a Bowen Therapist.

My work is inspired by colour shape and form, and has been influenced by many artists. Hockney, Gillian Ayres, Martyn Brewster, Peter Wright, as well as textile designers, Kaffe Fassett and Missoni, are among them.

Where to find my work
